European Heart Network

The European Heart Network (EHN) is a Brussels‐based alliance of heart foundations and likeminded non‐governmental organizations throughout Europe, with member organizations in 26 countries.
The European Heart Network plays a leading role in the prevention and reduction of cardiovascular disease through advocacy, networking and education so that it is no longer a major cause of premature death and disability throughout Europe.
To achieve its aim, EHN dedicates itself to:

Influencing European policy makers in favor of a heart‐healthy lifestyle;

Creating and nurturing ties between organizations concerned with CVD prevention;

Gathering and disseminating information relevant to CVD prevention;

Monitoring European Union policy;

Encouraging support for comprehensive CVD research.

Events organized by the EHN
The European heart network has undoubtedly organised a number of projects and conferences and awareness campaigns. But the most important one is the project for children and obesity.

The beginning

Excessive body weight has been shown to predispose to various diseases, particularly cardiovascular.
A decrease in the amount of daily activity related to work, transportation and personal chores is believed to contribute to the high percentage of overweight and obesity today and it canbe reduce through physical activity, especially aerobic exercise.
Spinning is an original and popular group cycling class. With no complicated moves to learn, top notch instructors and carefully selected energetic music, the legs start to pedal .Getting into shape becomes easy and specially appealing for the youth .The coaching ,the motivation environment and the group energy , power up the class . A 40 minute class can burn as many as 500 calories.
It is our belief that the project contributes to the education of the population on physical exercise and heart diseases. The organization is interested in calling people’s attention towards the public health problem that is obesity and heart problms, specially the youth that as a natural inclination to food disorder. The campaign may contribute to a change in life style therefore preventing the disease.
The final profit will be donated to the European Heart Network organization.
